Randy Bowlus

–

Kimberly, Oregon

Randolph “Randy” Keith Bowlus, 75, passed away on November 20, 2025, at his residence in Kimberly, Oregon. Randy was born two months early on May 30, 1950, in Hollywood, California, to Richard and JoyMae Bowlus. He moved with his family to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1952, where he lived for 30 years. He graduated from high school in June 1969 and joined the Air National Guard.

He met and later married his love, his queen, Teresa Andersen, on March 28, 1970, in Anchorage, Alaska. Over the next 55 years, Randy and Terri built a life that most only dream of. They had three children: Cliff of Monument, Nolan of West End, North Carolina, and Jeni of Atascadero, California. Randy worked as a sprinkler fitter for 30 years and retired in 2007. After retirement, Randy and Terri were full-time RVers for 10 years, traveling America one mile at a time. Randy loved to drive so much that he went back to school for commercial truck driving. Randy and Terri called Alaska home until 2025, when they moved to Kimberly, Oregon, to be closer to her family.

Recently, Randy and his son, Cliff, purchased a sawmill together and began milling lumber. In addition to his love of travel, his tattoos show his love for his family, his country, and his gun hobby, thanks to his son Nolan, who has an extensive 30-year career with the United States Army. Randy was creative and always thinking of new projects to work on. That creativity carried over to his children, and especially his daughter Jeni, who is exceptionally artistic. He will always be remembered for his stoicism in complex situations and his useless knowledge of trivia; those traits also show in his children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and JoyMae Bowlus. Randy is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Terri; his children, Cliff (Heather), Nolan (Jessica), and Jenelle (Aaron); his in-laws, Bob and Bodean Andersen; 8 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; his siblings, Bonita Railsback, Larry Bowlus, Connie Maze, and Robert Bowlus; plus 33 nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family, friends, and community in saying goodbye to Randy was held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 1:00 pm PST at the Monument Senior Center. This gathering will be a potluck lunch. For those who are able, please feel free to bring & share any dish you would like. There will also be a celebration of Randy’s life, with a BBQ on his birthday, May 30, 2026, time to be announced at a later date. All are welcome! Driskill Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
