Melvin Iler Obituary (1951 - 2017)

Melvin "Red" Dale Iler, 65, of Mount Vernon, Oregon passed away March 29, 2017, at his home in Mount Vernon. A memorial service will be May 13, 2017, at Living Word Christian Center located at 59357 Hwy 26, Mount Vernon, Oregon at 10:00 AM. Red was born October 16, 1951, to Donald Iler and Emogene St. John in Prairie City Oregon. After graduating from Grant Union High School in John Day, Oregon, Red attended Lane Community College in Eugene Oregon. Red then went on to be a Big Game Guide for Ellis Big Game Guides and later started Melvin Dale Iler Construction where he worked as a carpenter for many years. On November 21, 1987, Red married Victoria Suzanne Green in Mount Vernon, Oregon. Red lived his life to the fullest, hunting, fishing and camping with wife Victoria and their dog. He was proud to be affiliated with the Living Word Christian Center in Mount Vernon, Oregon. Red was preceded in death by his parents Donald Iler and Emogene (St. John) Iler. He is survived by his wife, Victoria Iler of Mount Vernon Oregon: two stepdaughters, Crystal Richer of La Pine, Oregon and Amber Preece of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida; two brothers; Jim Iler of Richland, Oregon and Ronald Iler of Oceanside California; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
